A genuine public domain gem, if you get the joke. Made in 1940 it is a parody of the over emoting of the silent movies, especially of silent melodramas, but done with sound to emphasis how ridiculous all the arm waving and facial grimaces were. A perfect cast, well acted, some hilarious gags. Buster Keaton has a modest role.
