Why
we didn't use Father's Little Dividend... (Other
titles not used) Spencer
Tracy returns in a sequel to Father of the Bride. Tracy
plays Stanley Banks the father of Kay 'Kitten' Dunstan, played by Elizabeth Taylor.
Kay is now married and about to have a baby, and then has the baby in this light
family drama. Spencer
Tracy is very good, it's just that the script is a bit of a whitewash. There is
a truly awful moment (unbelievable) where Tracy takes the baby, his grandson,
out in a pram and then gets so into a game of soccer in the park that he loses
the baby. (The baby is picked up by the police and no harm done, apart from some
raised eyebrow scolding.) This
movie is a simple piece of no harm intended drama, with a bit of a weepy ending
(they name the baby after Spencer Tracy's character). Nothing particularly funny
to make into a clip however, although Spencer Tracy's attitude (light-grumpy)
is superb. | Spencer
